City Of Branson
A LETTER FROM THE MAYOR

What a delight to have you in Branson and Ozark Mountain Country during the Branson's Country Spring season. Even if you have been here before, you may still have trouble recognizing this blossoming town.

Entertainment and shopping opportunities continue growing as the city becomes a year-round draw. Branson now boast 38 music theaters with over 52,000 seats- that's 9000 more seats than are in theaters on New York's Broadway. The shows in Branson are spectacular and many visitors return to Branson year after year to enjoy the different variety of productions.

One of the biggest booms in recent years has been shopping. Factory outlet stores have blossomed in Branson. Already we are among the top 10 cities with the most outlet stores, and that's not bad for a town that wasn't even ranked a few years ago.

Nearly 200 national outlet stores will open this year in three malls. There's also the unique and unusual shops all over town near the theaters for shopping enthusiasts. And be sure to visit historic downtown Branson where it all began.

In addition to the entertainment and shopping, the Branson area shines for sightseers with beautiful views of the lakes and Ozark hills plus top-notch fishing and water sports on the lakes of  Table Rock, Taneycomo and Bull Shoals.

But any community is made up of its people, and I'm proud to say I receive letters almost daily from the visitors who express the friendly and hospitable ways in which they were treated while staying in Branson.

The city has kept up with growth by providing the necessary roads, water and wastewater facilities for the necessary convenience of everyone. Even though our population is only 4,440, we must provide the services of a city of 40,000 because that's how many people are in Branson on a daily basis during the tourism season.

I wish you a most enjoyable experience in Branson and hope you will continue to be a frequent visitor to our community. Why not come and see us in the spring, summer, fall, and holiday season?

Very truly yours,

Louis E. Schaefer
Mayor of Branson
